It's been the forth day since much awaited London Olympics kicked off. Around 10K athletes from 205 countries are participating in this biggest sports carnival.
India has sent his biggest contingent to these Olympics as claimed by IOC(Indian Olympics Committee). No doubt the size of the Indian contingent increases in every Olympiad but number of medals won doesn't seem to increase in that manner. Yesterday, one of the India's best shooter won a bronze in 10m rifle shooting event and on the other hand one of the Indian shooter who won gold medal in the same event failed to make it to the final round. Though India won it's first medal in these Olympics, is it enough for a country of 2bn people?
India's strength lies in Boxing, Shooting, Tennis, Archery and Badminton disciplines.Should India be restricted to these disciplines? Why can't India make it presence in other disciplines like swimming, gymnastics and other non -conventional games?
